Singapore Targets Discrimination Amid Foreign Labor Resentment

Aug.29 — Singapore’s Prime Minister is seeking to diffuse concerns about the foreign workforce. Lee Hsien Loong has pledged that his government will further tighten the visa criteria for its ex-pats, raising salaries for low-income laborers and holding companies to account when it comes to their hiring practices.
