Scholz Stands Firm in Second Debate in Germany

Sep.13 — With less than two weeks to go before the Germany election, Frontrunner Olaf Scholz has bolstered his odds of succeeding Angela Merkel yet again. The SPD candidate fended off attacks from rival Armin Laschet over his track record as finance minister in a televised debate. Snap polls showed most viewers judged Scholz won the contest. Bloomberg’s Maria Tadeo reports on “Bloomberg Markets: European Open.”
